3 Tips For Five A Day | No1 Fitness

These 3 tips are to help you if you struggle with your vegetable intake. Any tips or tricks that you have found helpful, please share!

1. Add in extra veggies to meals where they are essentially hidden! Meals such as shepherds pie, Bolognese, omelettes and stews. This can include small vegetables like peas, onions, peppers, carrots. Or, vegetables that wilt and become smaller when you cook them, such as spinach, kale (if you’re one of the few people who like kale!)

2. Smoothies! Adding in a mixture of fruit and vegetables into a blender, you can easily increase your intake by 2 or 3 portions per day! I will be posting a couple of smoothie recipes in the coming weeks if you’re stuck for ideas.

3. Greens Supplement. These are essentially dry, powdered vegetables and fruits that you add to water and drink, and can come in a variety of flavours (some, even chocolate!) Ideally we want your fruits and vegetables to come from the real thing, but if you struggle then a greens supplement is a good way to top up your intake!
