Everyone loves a good squat, especially us at No1 Fitness. Squats are quick and easy and can be done in varying ways almost anywhere. Squats are classed as one of the best workouts for your leg strength and general fitness.

Squats work so well because they stimulate your hormones promoting muscle growth. They involve most muscles in the body so if you are looking to reveal a toned tummy exercises like squats should be a part of your regular routine.

By moving your body through a full range of motion, you not only build your strength, you boost your flexibility as well. Deep squatting helps to increase the range of motion in your entire hip area. The benefits you can expect from deep squats are: back mobility, hip mobility, pain management and daily activities becoming easier such as climbing stairs.

Squats build your glutes, quads and hamstring muscles. Strengthening these muscles and muscles around your knees, hips and ankles reduces your chance of injury when doing most ordinary activities.

Ladies squatting does not make you become bulky but it is great for toning up your rear and gentleman you will not suddenly grow an extra large one however your leg muscle definition will improve and shape up too. Squats are a great way to kick-start your metabolism and start burning loads of calories.

Top tip from trainer Simon – Always dig your heels in the ground when squatting for added stability. Keep your back straight and don’t move your hip position on your way down
